We offer a choice of four medical plans, as well as a dental and vision plan. There is no waiting period for health care coverage, and many qualifying domestic partnerships are eligible for all of our benefits!

Plan for Life After Work...
All eligible employees are automatically enrolled in the NYGC’s 401(k) Retirement Savings plan. The New York Genome Center will match 100% of the first 5% of employee deferrals, with immediate vesting! The plan offers a variety of investment options.
Moving to NYC?
Eligible employees relocating at NYGC’s request may receive relocation benefits. The distance between the former residence and the NYGC must be 50 miles or greater (per IRS guidelines) to be eligible for this benefit.
Healthy Work-Life Balance
In addition to 12 observed holidays, all new employees earn fifteen days of vacation in their first year of work. After the first year, vacation accruals are based upon years of service. In addition, employees are granted an additional three personal days per calendar year.
Financial Convenience
The NYGC offers WageWorks, a commuter benefits program that allows participants to pay in advance for mass transit and/or parking expenses with pre-tax dollars.
